It began its life in when the first passenger flight from Northern Ireland took place with the legendary Harry Ferguson as pilot. Regular civil services began in 1933, when just 4 passensgers were flown twice daily between Northern Ireland and Renfrew in Scotland. Today Belfast City Airport handles roughly 1.9 million passengers per year and flies to 17 different destinations from one terminal.
