Humberside airport is located half way between Grimsby and Scunthorpe, north east England. The airport was originally set up as RAF Kirmington in 1941, but the council later bought the airport and work soon began to turn the land into a passneger airport. Humberside airport is currently owned by Manchester airport PLC. In 2003 the airport saw 518,000 passengers pass through its gates and handled 13,000 aircraft movements.
