Islay airport is located on the south-west coast of Islay in the town of Glenegdale. The first flight took place from here in 1933 with the extended Glasgow to Cambeltown service. Today the airport connects the Islay island with Glasgow International airport and over 20,000 passengers travel through the airport each year.
