Sheffield City Airport is located only four miles from Sheffield City Centre with good road and rail links. The airport was first opened in 1997 and handled about 1000 aircraft movements a year on its 2 runways. The airport had its CAA licence withdrawn in April 2008 and closed completely on 30 April 2008 to be turned into a business park.
