Directions
Getting there by Car / Taxi
Passengers travelling from the east of the island should use the A866, which is the main road that runs through the eastern part of the island. Passengers approaching the airport from the west can use either the A858 or A859. The A857 is the main road that runs from the north of the island. The airport is close to town of Stornoway. Taxis are available from outside the terminal building, or they can be booked in advance.
Getting there by Bus / Coach
The town of Stornoway is the island's travel centre, so buses run to and from Stornoway from most other major towns on the island. The airport is situated just 4 miles from the town, and regular buses cover this route.
Getting there by Ferry
There are ferries available to the town of Stornoway from mainland Scotland. These ferries run from Ullapool (buses can be caught to Ullapool from Inverness) six days a week (no service on Sundays). There are two services each day, one in the morning and one in the early evening; while three services run on Wednesdays and Fridays. Over the festive period, services are reduced to one a day. For more information on timetables contact the Stornoway tourist board.
