Airport Code    SWS

Swansea Airport is located approximately 20 minutes drive from Swansea City Centre. The airbase at Fairwood Common first opened in 1941 and was a Sector Station during the war. The runway and hangars were eventually re-utilised in 1956 when the commercial business Swansea Airport opened. Today the airport is used for general aviation, charter flights, police helicopter and Welsh Air Ambulance services.
