Wolverhampton Airport is located to the west of Birmingham and south west of Wolverhampton and originally came about when in 1938
the R.A.F. drew up plans for a volunteer reserve Centre at Halfpenny Green. (The airports former name.) Today, the airport aims to develop a complementary airport to Birmingham International serving the business, training, maintenance and general aviation needs of the Western Midlands and Central Wales with limited scheduled passenger services to key UK, Irish and Central European destinations and major hubs.
